Attendance

We are fully committed to ensuring pupils achieve their full potential and parents have an important role in supporting their success.

  • Pupils are able to arrive in school from 8.30am. This ensures they are ready in class for the start of the school day at 8.40am. Any child that arrives after 8.40am is marked as late. Furthermore, any arrivals after 9.00am are marked as an 'unauthorised absence' in compliance with our Attendance & Punctuality Policy (please find below).
  • When pupils are absent, parents should telephone the school on the first day of absence to confirm the reason and anticipated length of absence.
  • The school will contact parents if they have not been informed about any absence.
  • Routine medical, optical and dental treatment should be made outside of school hours.
  • Parents are not permitted to take children on holiday in term time. Should an absence from school for an execpetional reason be necessary, parents must write to the Head Teacher, who will assess each situation individually. Absence will not be approved retrospectively and any absences taken without consent will be an unauthorised absence.
