Pupil Voice
School Council
We are pleased to have an active school council. They represent the Good Shepherd pupil voice and work with the Head Teacher and Governing Body to plan projects and raise funds for various local and national charities.

Playground Friends

We are also pleased to announce that we have Playground Friends at our school. Their role is to introduce the children to new playground games.

Additional Responsibilities

At Good Shepherd, we encourage pupils to become independent and to accept responsibilities for themselves and sometimes for others. There are a variety of opportunities for pupils to take on additional responsibilities, depending on their age:

A Head Boy, a Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy are chosen from Year 6. They are children who are excellent role models for all pupils and are requested to carry out duties by the Headteacher and the Deputy Headteacher as well as by other members of staff.

House Captains represent their teams at sports day but also read out the House Points each week in assembly.

Prefects are chosen from Year 6 and are known as the Pupil Leadership Team. They are expected to set a good example by their behaviour and their attitude to work to all pupils, and carry out duties as requested by their teachers and other staff.

Wet Play Monitors are chosen from Year 6. When it is raining, the pupils have to stay in their classrooms and Year 6 pupils spend time in younger classes helping supervise the pupils, alongside an adult.

One girl and one boy from each class are voted to represent their class on the School Council. The Council meets every week and is facilitated by a member of staff. Issues are brought to the meetings, which are then discussed thoroughly.

Children in Year 5 can apply to join the Chaplaincy Group, which takes responsibility for the school garden, outdoor prayer area and all focal areas inside.

Librarians are selected to ensure the school library is neat and tidy. They also stamp new books when they arrive.

In addition to these, classes have all sorts of different monitors in order to keep particular areas of the classroom tidy or for helping with particular classroom routines.
