Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School. I am delighted to be the Headteacher of this school and know that the children, staff and governors are extremely proud of our school!

Whether you are visiting our website as an existing parent, a potential parent or an interested member of our local community, I am sure you will enjoy finding out a little more about our wonderful school.

Good Shepherd is a caring, one-form entry school with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where everyone is valued and respected as part of God’s family. Our Christian faith is at the heart of everything we do in school and each pupil’s school-life is enriched through prayer, worship and shared Gospel values.

Our approach to teaching and learning encourages and supports children to become enthusiastic, positive and resilient learners. We have a clear focus on raising standards in all aspects of the curriculum by inspiring children in their learning whilst also ensuring children develop the personal and social skills they need to be successful in life.

The pupils at Good Shepherd are our best asset; they have excellent behaviour in both the playground and classroom; they are friendly and helpful; they are courteous to adults and peers alike. They really do follow our Mission Statement of “Striving for excellence-together as one”.

We have an excellent team of outstanding, experienced staff who are fully committed to working in partnership with families and the local community to ensure that every child in the school is happy, secure and achieves success in both their learning and personal achievements .

There is much more information on the website and we hope that you find everything you are looking for. Please read our weekly newsletters for news about school events.

Visits to the school from prospective parents are encouraged.  Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.
